If you are over 50, join our popular Upperdeckers club to try something new, meet new people, keep active and have fun on the water. It is currently free although we appreciate a purely voluntary contribution towards our running costs if you can afford it. No prior experience is necessary.

The Upperdeckers club offers a free program of beginner-friendly, safe and supervised water activities including:

  • sailing
  • kayaking
  • narrowboating
  • bellboating
  • powerboating

Our friendly staff are on hand to teach you and answer any questions.

If getting on the water isn’t for you, just come along to watch, have a cup of tea and meet some new people. Free tea, coffee and juice is provided.

Every Tuesday 11am - 1pm (term time). Feel free to just turn up and try it. A small voluntary contribution is welcomed.

What to bring

A full change of clothes (appropriate for the weather) including soft-soled shoes and a towel. We will provide everything else including buoyancy aids.

Full shower and changing facilities are available. A full change of clothing including shoes is required for those heading on the water.
