Who we are
Serving young people since 1972, Islington Boat Club offers exciting, safe, and inclusive watersports experiences for schools and youth groups.
Who we welcome

Ages: 8–17
-
Requirements: Must swim 25m in light clothing

SEN & Pupil Referral Groups: Fully supported (group sizes may be adjusted for safety)
Activities Available
We offer a range of water-based experiences:

Canoeing
-
Kayaking
-
Bellboating
-
Powerboating (max 3 per group)
-
Narrowboat Trips (up to 10 passengers)
Day visits can include multiple activities.

What to Bring
-
Old clothes and closed-toe shoes
-
Full change of clothes and towel
-
Sun hat and sunscreen (in sunny weather)

Buoyancy aids are provided and must be worn

Protective clothing available in bad weather
Group Sizes & Ratios
-
Kayaking/Canoeing: 15 per instructor
-
Bellboating: 10 per instructor
-
Narrowboat: 10 passengers max
-
Standard Group Size: 30 (multiples of 15 available by request)

All staff are:

British Canoe Union / RYA qualified

First aid trained

Enhanced DBS checked

Bookings are first come, first served and only confirmed once forms are received.
Cancellations require at least one week’s notice to avoid full charges.
Visiting Staff Responsibilities

While watersports are led by our qualified instructors, visiting staff must supervise their groups at other times
